I love BMF, everyone gets on well; it is more sociable than a gym, especially when you are giving someone a piggy back!

Fitness Classes

Our military fitness classes take place outdoors in parks throughout the country. Click here to see a list of our venues. Each class lasts for an hour and at BMF we cater for all levels of ability. Our instructors ensure that no one is made to feel left out. They will motivate you, and above all make it fun!

Each class is divided into ability groups and starts with a warm up. This is followed by a full 50 minutes of effective and varied fitness training (Admit it, have you ever done that in the gym?!), broken up only by a water break in between. The session ends with a cool down and stretch. Click here to watch a class online.

You can sign up to for a different number of classes per week. You can attend any class at any venue at any time, to suit your schedule. You may even find your company gets corporate membership.

Please note that you have to be at least 16 years of age to attend a BMF class.

Why Should I Join BMF as opposed to a gym?

  • To have a challenging workout with a motivational instructor - every time!
  • To lose weight, have fun and feel better about yourself
  • To meet new people and learn more about yourself
  • To exercise outside in the fresh air
  • For a highly cost effective way of exercising
  • For an environmentally friendly way of exercising

Ability Groups

Every class you have the ability to choose which group you join. If you are finding your sessions too easy or hard then you can change the next time.

If you are in doubt as to which group is right for you, have a look at our fitness assessment page or speak to an instructor at your trial class.

Most people start off with a novice, blue bib, class and work their way up through the different levels.

Novice Groups (Blue Bibs)

For those people that currently do little or no exercise OR are returning to fitness training after a break. For example, after having given birth or returning from a medical condition. We work to the weakest member of the group. This level bib is for anyone to try, and at the bigger venues we do several levels of beginners classes. There is nothing to be afraid of!

Intermediate Groups (Red Bibs)

For those who have worked their way up from our novice groups or those joining us who have a reasonable standard of fitness already. Intermediate classes are either a great way to keep weight off OR a great way to step up to more challenging classes, depending on the kind of person you are!

Advanced Groups (Green Bibs)

Where the fittest members will be put through a very intensive session. Seperate advanced classes are run at most of our venues. The sessions are highly rated by the sports men and women that attend them who are looking to get pushed beyond anything they have experienced before. A great way of cross training for people who have no fear!
