BMF is certainly the most fun I've had for fitness exercise.  You and your colleagues are doing a great job

I love BMF, everyone gets on well; it is more sociable than a gym, especially when you are giving someone a piggy back!

Military 5k & 10k Series - SCOTLAND

Please Note: This event will no longer be going head. It is unfortunate that we did not recieve enough sign up entries to cover costs, and have postponed the event until a future date. Sorry for any inconvenience.

We have run our Military Series on this particular land previously. In 2009 we are building new obstacles and making it more exciting than ever before. You are guaranteed to finish this race wet, muddy, smelly, exhausted and with a big smile on your face!

The Venue

The race will take part in the Pentland Hills just south of Edinburgh. The start point of the race is just near Dreghorn Barracks. Being MOD land, it is rugged, challenging and with additional obstacles we will put up for the day, a lot of fun!

There will be no access to toilets or changing facilities on the day. We will have a small storage area though that you can leave personal items and a warm change of clothes whilst you are taking part in the event.

To see further images on our Scotland venue and the course, please click here to visit our Military Series photo gallery.

Getting to the Venue

The exact location of the venue will be emailed out to those taking part approximately 3 weeks prior to the event.

We suggest driving or car sharing to the event. If you are in search of other participants in the same area to you that may like to car share, please click here to visit out BMF facebook page for the event. (You must be already logged in to your facebook account for this link to work).

Safety

As with all BMF events, your safety is our number one concern. Experienced marshals and BMF instructors are on hand throughout the course to manage tricky sections of the route. Those signing up for this event must accept that there is an element of risk involved in such activities.

The Cost

  • 10k - £20
  • 5k - £20

The Prizes

Timberland, who are currently in partnership with BMF, will be donating prizes for the winners in both our 10k female and 10k male categories. Winners in the female 5k and male 5 will each receive a limited free month of BMF membership.

Entry

Please note that all entries are NON TRANSFERABLE and NON REFUNDABLE. If you are paying for multiple entries, a member of our event staff will email you for further detail on your additional entries. We need the additional details for insurance purposes and so we assign race numbers and timing chips to everyone.

Please note this is event is subject to a minimum number of sign ups.

Volunteers / Marshalls needed

If you are injured, or not up for the challenge this time around but would still love to be involved, we are always on the hunt for extra event day helpers. From assisting with registration, to helping marshal the course and sending runners in the right direction, to helping with time keeping and the water drink station, any additional hands are greatly appreciated.

Those that assist on our October 09 event are entitled to a free run in 2010 as a thanks for your efforts.

If you are interested in assisting, please click here to email Lou your contact details.
