Winter Training Tips
The winter weather can be a shock to the system. Rain, cold and classes in the dark can be more challenging BUT also more exciting!
We have put together our top training tips in a printable and downloadable document below. The tips are a result of our ten years of experience in taking fitness classes during the winter.
Think What You Have to Lose!
Stopping training in the winter means that you will undo much of the good work and progression that you've made during the summer months.
People are often worried that they are at increased risk of injuries during the winter. Statistically, the number of injuries that are reported to BMF central does not increase in the winter months. Another concern is dogs mess. If you are unfortunate enough to experience this, our instructors carry wet wipes and / or antiseptic spray to deal with it. They also carry personal medical kits for any minor scrapes you may pick up.
Probably the best way to keep up on classes is to drag a friend down with you to share the experience!
Benefits of Winter Classes
Winter classes actually accentuate all the things that make BMF special:
- It's harder work because of the conditions
- It's even more of a 'shared' group experience
- The opportunity to meet new people by torchlight increases!
- You may surprise yourself with what you achieve
It is also worth remembering that all our venues run classes in daylight hours, either during the day or on weekends. If you aren't a regular weekender, try a class on Saturday or Sunday.
Give winter classes a go, you might surprise yourself!
