British Military Fitness has been inspiring positive change for thousands of people across the UK since 1999 by bringing them together to get fit and healthy.
Every week, we run over 500 boot camp style classes in 140 venues nationwide, making us the UK’s leader in outdoor fitness. Our classes are delivered by ex or serving members of the Armed Forces who are fully qualified fitness professionals.
Each class is different, consisting of various activities including cardio based training, strength training, teamwork and high intensity interval training. This is mixed with bodyweight exercise and use of fitness equipment.
Every class is suitable for all abilities, we use a bib system as follows: blues (beginner), reds (intermediate) and greens (advanced).
Our beginner classes mean that even if you’re just starting out your fitness journey you will be surrounded by others in exactly the same boat. The instructor will talk to you before and after the class and make sure you are supported throughout the entire session.
BMF Run Club offers all the support and motivation you’d expect from a BMF class, but without the burpees! We use firm, lit paths and the class is suitable for all abilities. You’ll also be able to enjoy BMF classes at no extra cost.

British Military Fitness was founded in April 1999 by Major Robin Cope, Corporal Will Skinner and Serjeant Harry Sowerby as an alternative form of group fitness training to gyms.

The idea was, and still is, to get people of all fitness abilities outdoors training in parks, with motivation provided by military trained instructors. While many people refer to BMF as a boot camp, it was never the intention to make BMF an intimidating, hard out boot camp. Instead the aim was always to give everyone a fun and effective form of training using the highly professional skills learnt in the military.
Every class is different and our military-trained instructors guarantee results. Participants will be challenged, motivated, and above all, have serious fun. What's more, everyone is welcome as these classes cater for ALL abilites, from fitness veterans to exercise rookies.
